2010 HHR SS - Panel Conversion

Wow, the rear sway bar makes a huge handling difference!!
Just changed the engine oil and filter again!
Still available if anyone wants a truly well built HHR SS.
The spring seats and cushions were all replaced when the suspension was refreshed.
Oh yeah, I was poking around on this forum and found the threads pertaining to the front lower ball joint not being available as a component. Hmmm got me thinking as I had installed new Moog ball joints when I built the suspension. Now while I have not heard any ‘rattling’ from from the front suspension I realized the Moog ball joint was incorrect so I just purchased and installed new GM OEM lower control arms. I pressed out the brand new rubber bushings in them and replaced with my poly bushings.
Therefore I now have a couple LCA’s with new ball joints and no bushings sitting around!

Always good to have spares, the month after you trash them, sell them or give them away, a nasty pothole or curbing will bend one for you!

Problem is these LCA’s are no longer useful on a SS (the ball joint shaft is sized for everything else that uses this suspension). I would think they could be used as an upgrade for the steel ones on lesser HHR’s?
My HHR is one of 10 cars I currently have and only gets driven once in a while for a Costco run! Looks like it won’t sell which is fine, I have space for it in my garage (all 10 cars are indoors). Many years from now it will still be a low mileage HHR SS converted to Panel in the same condition it is right now!

Even us “lesser” HHR’s all got the aluminum LCA’s , you could sell them to someone with an LS/LT wanting to install the bushings

I like improving suspensions on cars, everything gets poly bushings etc. No matter the car it can be made to handle better than stock. The ‘96 Corvette handles amazing as does the ‘09 XKR after suspension overhauls.
No bs, I don’t fool around or spare expense, they all get built right!
I buy what I like and fix it up to make it the way I want it.
Good way to de-stress from work. I built myself a shop to escape to on the weekends.
